To everyone having troubled in aim of Splatoon2 🎯#2『Basics on how to decide sensitivity』
Hello everyone! This is Shion and welcome back to my blog.🎯
Today, I’d like to talk about setting your suited sensitivity, which most players probably has gone through and it’s a bit troublesome to find the right one to yourself. Just in case for those who don’t know, you can set your sensitivity in the settings menu by pressing the X button on your controller. By setting the sensitivity suited for you, you will be able to play much better and hit shots much easier.
Why is it so hard to find the correct sensitivity? The answer is because there is no such thing as a universal sensitivity that’s for everyone. If there was one, then all top players would be using that and we won’t be spending so much time finding it. Now we know that we have to set our sensitivity individually. How do we do that? Well, that’s why you’re reading this😉.
〜Setting sensitivity~
First, I’ll write my method on the assumption that you’re using the Switch Pro Controller. I’m sitting back in my chair with my back straight and I have my hands lightly on my thighs when I play.
※This is just how I play. Each of you may have different styles.
I’m going to use the squid bumpers in the test shooting site.
I’ll give each one numbers to make it easier to explain.
1 to 5 from the farthest bumper.
Then, stand in the point shown in the picture below.
Thank you for waiting everyone.
Now, I’m going to explain how it works in 4 easy steps.
🎯STEP1:Set the reticle to bumper No.1.
Release all the tension in your body and relax.
🎯STEP2:Close your eyes and move your aim to bumper No.2 using only your feeling.
Move the reticle from bumper No.1 to No.2 without looking. Land your aim where you think No.2 is. After that, open your eyes and if your reticle have passed No.2 then lower the sensitivity. If you haven’t reached it, then raise the sensitivity. Do this several times and get a rough idea of your sensitivity. It’s important to move your reticle in a straight line: don’t sway or go around.
🎯STEP3:Go through all bumpers: 2→3, 3→4, 4→5, and 5→1.
Try all moves(close your eyes!) and find the right sensitivity for you. Here, it is crucial that you move your aim slowly. I have a demo clip on my twitter. Some of you may be surprised at how slow it is, but trust me, accuracy is key and it’ll help in the long run.
🎯STEP4:Get use to the new sensitivity.
After going through all the bumpers several times, set your sensitivity and practice it in the test site for a few minutes. That should be the suited sensitivity for you.
What did you think?
You were you able to find your sensitivity?
Like I said earlier, sensitivity varies between players so use this method a couple times and I hope you can find the right one.
Well, that’s it for today. In this blog, I talked about the basics of sensitivity. Next blog will be a little more advanced and show you references and studies that I found. I hope you enjoyed this topic and see you next time!
